Mercedes 280SL 1970, most desirable version 5 speed ZF European spec car.
Chassis number 491 503 519 531 was supposedly delivered to Italy and then out to the USA being with the second owners for the last 45 years.
The car is running driving but should be assumed will want re commissioning. We are told the car is very orginal and as can be seen from the engine bay it has not been previously restored. The car also is very solid and original having spent considerable time in Arizona.
There is a huge history file with the car and a beautiful complete original tool kit and all books and manuals. Also a new soft top covering and spares including the cubby box and ashtry.
This is a very significant 280SL.
The car is due to arrive with us in 4 week’s time, at this moment we are asking for pre arrival offers which we may accept but we would want a 50% deposit on that offer to secure the car. The car is showing 56k miles on the MPH speedometer and until we go through the history file we cannot confirm the accuracy of that.
